With more units in the field than any other automated multi-pig pipeline pigging system, SureLaunch® launchers and receivers set the industry standard in streamlining the pipeline pigging process through automation.

Our automated pipeline pigging system utilizes an electric-drive feed mechanism that is designed to launch seven to 10 cleaning pigs automatically, or one smart pig in manual mode for in-line inspection purposes. Cellular based-remote control is a standard option on our automated pig launchers as well as solar power, which is vital for remote installations.

 

COMBINING MULTI-PIG LAUNCHING SYSTEMS WITH SLUG CATCHERS

WeldFit has combined its expertise in the design and manufacture of harp/finger-style slug catchers and its patented SureLaunch automated multi-pig launching systems to provide our customers with an integrated solution to optimize pipeline pigging and slug catcher sizing.

 

Combining multi-pig launching — the SureLaunch system houses and releases up to 10 pigs individually and at predetermined intervals to reduce slug volume — with slug catching operations improves the overall efficiency of the pipeline system. More specifically, it does the following:

• Helps customers avoid the potentially catastrophic results of pushing larger slugs through the pipeline, overwhelming downstream facilities.
• Reduces maintenance and operational costs.
• Potentially reduces the capital cost associated with the slug catcher through optimization of liquid slug size.
• Improves safety and optimizes personnel productivity by reducing trips to the launcher and limiting the number of times the launcher door is opened.
• Boost pipeline capacity.
• Reduce methane emissions associated with frequent pigging.

 

 

Our standard units hold 10 spherical pigs in sizes up to 12” and 8 spherical pigs in sizes 16” and larger. Options include elevated platforms to ease the loading and operation.

Our control system utilizes a PLC with an HMI in an explosion proof housing mounted in an easily accessible area on the launcher skid. Our standard launch pins are electric, which eliminates the need for supply gas required for pneumatic pins.

The SureTrap® pigging system locks in solid performance for your operation by delivering superior strength, better value and a wide range of configurations and options. SureTrap® systems are made with oversized barrels for ease in the loading and unloading of pigs. Additionally, the use of eccentric reducers on launchers and concentric reducers on receivers improve the system’s pig launching and receiving capabilities. And all connections are sized based on industry best practices and standards to provide a system that will work with any setup.

 

 

These systems are also highly configurable, enabling you to place outlets where you want them to save time and space or meet specific operational or code requirements. The launchers and receivers can also be skid-mounted with ancillary valves and piping for ease of installation into a customer’s pipeline system.
